Rice guys don’t finish last?
Congratulations to the Rice Owls baseball team, 2007 Conference USA and NCAA Super Regional champions, on its second consecutive trip to the College World Series and on representing the university and the sport in the best tradition of Rice.
A couple of tough losses to worthy opponents denied the Owls their second national title, but throughout the course of a great season, the players showed what it is to be good sports, spirited competitors, caring and compassionate human beings and true student–athletes.
The team flies back to Houston today, and all Rice fans are invited to come to Reckling Park at 2 p.m. to give the Owls a heroes’ welcome. Please join us for a pep rally to show our team how proud we are of all its accomplished.
